Cincinnati Feis News

We are looking forward to another great day for all on Sunday, June 28. As you get ready to join us in the ‘Queen City ‘we thought it would be nice to give you as many feis details as possible. If there is some information we left out please just ask – we want your day to be memorable as well as stress free!

Registration Pre-registration will take place on Saturday at the Dayton Feis from 2:00 – 4:00pm outside the competition space. On Sunday morning we will have registration open at 7:30am.

Competitor Lists We want you to bring what you need off your computer. We have posted our competitor list in an Excel format for easy access when downloading. You can do a search by competition if you do not wish to download all the competitors. We will post full competitor lists by the results area and at registration for referencing dancer’s numbers. www.cincinnatifeis.com

Stage Assignments These printed sheets will be available at registration. You may have already noticed that your dancer is on more than one stage. Do not fret! The stages are either adjacent to one and other or catty corner. And, most importantly, we run one dance at a time. So that means if Light Jigs are being danced than Reels cannot start on any of the other stages. We are also rotating judges once as well. This is to allow your dancer to have as many different judges as possible in their day.

Schedule Competitions will begin at 9:00am starting with Family Competitions & Figures on all stages. At 9:15 First Feis & Beginner 1 Competitions, as well as Preliminaries & Championships will begin. Remember Prelim & Champ are running oldest to youngest with hard shoe rounds first. At 9:35 we will start the U6 – U11 Beginner 2, Novice & Prizewinner comps. These will be followed by lunch and then we will start the U12 and older Beginner 2, Novice & Prizewinner competitions.

Camping We have loads of space - the entire first floor. The Fire Marshal does not allow any camping on the second floor where the dancing takes place. The camping area is located in the same area as the food and we have a large practice stage set up there as well. Also, for the girls that need to primp, we have a primping table with mirrors!

Results Preliminary and Championship results will be presented in a separate room next to stage 7. All the other results will be posted on the first floor outside the camping area. Every dancer can leave our feis with their dance scores and judges comments in hand. Simply stop by the result table on the lower level one hour after you have completed your dances. If you forget we will mail your scores on Monday to your dance teacher.

Mass We are sad to say that for the first time ever we are unable to have Mass. It seems that the Priests in our Archdiocese can only say Mass in a church. We have listed several choices on our website for you to consider.
